RobertPlant.comRobert Plant had a bit of a scare this past Thursday during a concert by his new group The Sensational Space Shifters in ****** Aires, Argentina, when an overzealous male fan jumped on stage and apparently tried to grab the Led Zeppelin frontman. As fan-shot video shows, Plant had just finished performing a rendition of "Rock and Roll" when the interloper comes running toward the singer from his left. A roadie is seen quickly apprehending the fan, but the singer is knocked backward onto the stage, although he immediately gets back up and is not hurt.
As the intruder is ushered away, Plant calls to the crew member, puts up his hand and says, "Easy." He then addresses the crowd, saying, "Thank you very much for the fun…and see you again soon."
The concert was the first of two shows Plant and his band played at ****** Aires' Luna Park stadium. The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer got a much better reception the following afternoon when he received a special honor by ****** Aires' mayor, Mauricio Macri. According to ******Aires.gob.ar, a ceremony was held at the ****** Aires Botanical Gardens, at which Plant was named an honorary guest of the city and was presented with a commemorative electric. The singer also was invited to attend a soccer game with the mayor the following day.
Plant and The Sensational Space Shifters are nearing the end of a Latin American tour that winds down next Monday in Mexico City.
