Photo: Ronnie NortonHenry McCullough, who played guitar in Paul McCartney's post-Beatles group Wings, is in critical condition after suffering a heart attack on Monday. Speaking with the BBC, McCullough's sister Rae Morrison called the 69-year-old musician "a very special person," adding, "We really are very worried for him, his sister is on her way home from Florida and his brother is coming home from Glasgow [Scotland]."
Hailing from Portstewart, Northern Ireland, McCullough was a member of Wings for about a year and a half during the early 1970s, and appeared on the band's 1973 album, Red Rose Speedway. Prior to his stint with McCartney's band, he played with Joe Cocker and performed alongside the soulful singer at the Woodstock festival in 1969.
This past March, he and former Wings drummer Denny Seiwell both performed at a Beatles fan festival in Secaucus, New Jersey.
