Journey Postpones Series of Concerts as Singer Arnel Pineda Suffers Throat Ailment

Photo: Alex SolcaJourney has postponed five U.S. shows on their U.S. tour with Pat Benatar and Loverboy because frontman Arnel Pineda has taken ill.  According to a message on Journey's official website, the singer is suffering from "severe laryngeal and esophageal inflammation," and his doctor has ordered him to refrain from performing for a week.

The first date affected was this past Thursday's gig in Evansville, Indiana, while concerts this Saturday in Grand Rapids, Michigan; Sunday in Fort Wayne, Indiana; Tuesday in Moline, Illinois; and Wednesday in Sioux City, Iowa, also have been nixed.  The shows will be rescheduled in January and February of 2013.  Fans holding tickets will be able to use them on the new dates or they can receive a refund where they purchased the passes.

Journey's tour is slated to start up again on Friday, November 6, in Milwaukee.  Visit JourneyBand.com to check out the veteran rockers' entire upcoming itinerary.
