Facebook.com/HeartA special video for "Dear Old America," a song from Heart's Fanatic album, got its debut online at Spinner on Monday to coincide with Veterans Day. The clip celebrates U.S. military personnel and veterans, and features dozens of photos submitted by the band's fans that feature loved ones who have served in the country's armed forces.
The video begins with a message from singer Ann Wilson that reads, "This song is especially written for those men and women who have served, those men and women who have put themselves out there on the edge, and who are trying to come home and return to the world as it is."
Speaking about the clip, Ann and her sister Nancy tell Spinner, "The brave faces in this video bring home the powerful feelings of men and women serving their country; feelings also plain in the heart-rending expressions of the families, whether saying 'Welcome home' or 'Vaya con dios.'
"The unbreakable strands of love and support that connect these families and their fighting men and women are ******* tightly around the American heart," they continue, "and we thank all the families who contributed precious images for this video."
The Wilson sisters' late father, John, was a decorated Marine Corps officer who served for the U.S. for many years.
