Facebook.com/AMAsMusic's biggest names will gather this Sunday night in Los Angeles to celebrate the 40th Anniversary American Music Awards, airing live from the NOKIA Theatre L.A. LIVE on ABC at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
The evening will include a special performance by Stevie Wonder paying tribute to the late **** Clark, who created the AMAs four decades ago. More than a dozen other stars also will perform during the show, among them Christina Aguilera, Justin Bieber, Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Ke$ha, Linkin Park, Nicki Minaj, No Doubt, Taylor Swift and Usher.
While most of this year's AMA nominees are younger artists, at least one veteran singer is in the running for one of the trophies -- Lionel Richie. The former Commodores frontman, of course, is best known for his many pop and R&B hits, but at the 2012 AMAs he's vying for honors in the favorite country album category thanks to his smash duets collection Tuskegee.
