The country music mecca is already hosting the Grammy Nominations Concert Live!! -- Countdown to Music's Biggest Night event on CBS next week, and now the The Hollywood Reporter says Nashville is making a play to become the new home of the big show. Nashville mayor Karl Dean has promised the Grammys that the city will offset any costs that would make the show more expensive to produce in Nashville than in Los Angeles.
The Grammy Awards are free to leave Los Angeles after their next show, coming up February 10, 2013. The ceremony was last held in Nashville in 1973.
As for the Grammy Nominations Concert Live!! -- Countdown to Music's Biggest Night, a variety of artists will be featured performing on the December 5 CBS primetime special, which will reveal the nominees in the top Grammy categories.
