Ex-Pink Floyd singer/bassist Roger Waters scored the highest of any rock act on the tally, taking the #2 spot with an estimated $88 million coming in, thanks mainly to his recent The Wall Live tour. Next up is Elton John, who landed in third place with $80 million. The Rocket Man's earning come not only from his extensive touring schedule, including his ongoing Las Vegas residency, but also from Gnomeo and Juliet, the successful animated film he co-produced.
U2 clocked in at #4 on the list, earning $78 million from their 360 tour, which grossed $736 million over the last three years. Meanwhile, Bon Jovi raked in $60 million to come in at #6 on the tally, while Paul McCartney shared eighth place with country-pop princess Taylor Swift after making $57 million.
The Forbes rankings are based on estimates of gross income earned by each artist between May 2011 and May 2012.
