Report: Marvin Gaye's Son Against Biopic, Wants Lenny Kravitz to Back Out of the Project

MotownPlans for an upcoming biopic about Marvin Gaye are not sitting too well with the late singer's son, Marvin Gaye III, who tells TMZ that he wants his old schoolmate Lenny Kravitz to step away from the project.  As reported last month, the film would focus on the Motown star's struggles with **** abuse and depression in the years leading up to his 1984 death at the hands of his father, who shot him.

That period was a "low" point in Gaye's life, his son tells TMZ.  "The producers and directors of this film are very wrong and shameful," he says.  "They don't even know the whole story."

That's why the younger Gaye says he wants to talk to Kravitz about the role.  Speaking for him and his family members, Gaye III says, "I would hope [Lenny] doesn't have any idea that we are against this film being done."

Right now, Marvin says that he and some of his family are talking to lawyers about halting production of the film, which, according to TMZ, is tentatively titled ****** Healing.
