Photo: Rob FortunatoThe 90th annual National Christmas Tree Lighting takes place today in Washington, D.C., and James Taylor is among the big names who will be gathering around the tree to serenade the crowd with holiday songs and hits.

Other performers joining Taylor to sing holiday favorites during the tree lighting will be Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds, Colbie Caillat, Jason Mraz, The Fray and American Idol champ Phillip Phillips.  The event will be streamed live at TheNationalTree.org starting at 4:30 p.m. ET.  Neil Patrick Harris will host, and Modern Family actor Rico Rodriguez also will be on hand for the fun.
