ELO.bizThe new documentary focusing on the life and career of Electric Light Orchestra frontman Jeff Lynne will be available for purchase as a digital download on Tuesday via iTunes.  The 90-minute film, titled Mr. Blue Sky: The Story of Jeff Lynne & ELO, features new interviews with the acclaimed musician and producer as well as with a variety of his famous friends and musical associates.

Among the many stars who make appearances in Mr. Blue Sky are Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Joe Walsh, Monty Python's Eric Idle and Lynne's Traveling Wilburys band mate Tom Petty.  The documentary also features footage of the ELO mastermind performing in-studio versions of some of his former band's hits.

Mr. Blue Sky: The Story of Jeff Lynne & ELO premiered at a special event in September at the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles that also included a Q&A session with Lynne.  The production of the flick coincided with the arrival of two new albums from the singer/multi-instrumentalist -- Long Wave and Mr. Blue Sky: The Very Best of Electric Light Orchestra.  The first offers renditions of twelve cover songs that influenced and inspired Lynne when he was young, while the second features updated versions of many classic ELO tunes.  Both records hit stores last October 9.
