Loud & Proud RecordsMeat Loaf apparently has decided to call it quits as a touring artist and has begun lining up European dates for a farewell trek. The powerhouse singer, who currently is recovering from knee-replacement surgery, has scheduled a series of shows in the United Kingdom and Germany in the spring of 2013, according to his official Facebook page.
The outing, which has been dubbed Farewell Tour: Last At Bat, will feature two sets and include a full performance of Meat Loaf's classic 1977 album, Bat out of ****. The U.K. portion of the tour is scheduled from an April 5 show in Newcastle, England, through an April 21 concert in Cardiff, Wales. After that, Meat Loaf will head to Germany for gigs running from an April 25 appearance in Frankfurt through a May 8 stop in Oberhausen. LiveNation.co.uk reports that he also has a May 11 concert in the Netherlands.
As for the singer's post-operative condition, recent messages on his Facebook page report that he's been receiving physiotherapy, adding that he's been having "a few teething problems getting around. Working out the kinks and getting there...slowly."
