Facebook.com/HelenReddyOfficialFBAre you ready for the return of Helen Reddy? The pop star, who became the first Australian to top the Billboard Hot 100 when her women's-rights anthem "I Am Woman" reached #1 in 1972, is preparing to mount her first tour in more than a decade.
Reddy has scheduled a series of U.S. shows in March, including multiple-night engagements in Vienna, Virginia; Clearwater, Florida; and New York City. She also has a July 21 concert in Englewood, New Jersey, on her itinerary.
The 71-year-old singer, who took her hiatus from performing to focus on her career as a clinical hypnotherapist, discusses her reasons for leaving show business in a recent interview with GuySpy.com.
"I'd done it all -- the movies and TV and endless concerts," she notes. "If I had to sing 'Leave Me Alone' one more time I was going to slash my wrists." As you might recall, the tune -- a #3 hit for her in 1973 -- had particularly repetitive lyrics.

3/5 -- Newberry, SC, Newberry Opera House
3/7, 8 -- Vienna, Virginia, The Barns at Wolf Trap
