Rolling Stones Insider Says Band Is Recording New Music in Paris

Rankin/RollingStones.comA new report has emerged regarding what The Rolling Stones have been doing in a Paris recording studio during the last week or so. 

Longtime Stones archivist Nico Zentgraf tells U.K. newspaper The Guardian that the band members are ****** down new tracks with frequent co-producer Don Was, along with two of their longtime sidemen, keyboardist Chuck Leavell and bassist Darryl Jones. read more ≫


Eddie Van Halen Undergoes Surgery for Diverticulitis, Band Postpones Japan Tour

Matt York/ELVH Inc.Eddie Van Halen has undergone emergency surgery, forcing his band to push back a brief tour of Japan that had been scheduled for the fall.

A statement posted on Van Halen's official website and Facebook page says Eddie, 57, underwent "emergency surgery for a severe bout of diverticulitis" -- inflammation or infection of the colon that can result in pain, nausea or other symptoms. He's expected to make a full recovery in four to six months. read more ≫


Report: Rolling Stones to Play London and Brooklyn in November

Rankin/Rollingstones.comThe Rolling Stones will be performing four concerts in November -- two in London and two in Brooklyn, New York -- a source tells Billboard.biz.

The source says the Stones will play two dates at London’s O2 Arena and two at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.  The source says the band will be paid $25 million dollars for the four dates. read more ≫


John Lennon's Killer Would "Probably Stay" in Prison if Granted Parole

Chapman was denied parole last Thursday for the seventh time. The transcript of the August 22 interview was released Wednesday. read more ≫


U2’s Bono Garners Mention at Republican National Convention

Facebook.com/U2Former Arkansas governor-turned conservative talk show host Mike Huckabee brought up Bono’s name during a speech at the Republican National Convention in Tampa, Florida Wednesday night.

Huckabee told the GOP audience he’s had “the privilege of working with Bono for the past few years” on the ONE campaign to fight AIDS, hunger and disease around the world, and he called the Irish rocker a “great humanitarian.”

Huckabee recalled Bono describing his admiration for the U.S., saying we’re “more than a country,” we’re “an idea.” read more ≫
