John Lennon's Killer Scheduled to Have Parole Hearing This Week

Mark David Chapman pleaded guilty to second-degree ****** and was sentenced to 20 years to life for gunning down the Beatle outside of his Manhattan apartment complex on Dec. 8, 1980.

A decision regarding Chapman's release could come as soon as Thursday or Friday, according to the New York Department of Corrections. read more ≫


Today Marks the 50th Anniversary of Ringo Starr's First Gig as a Beatle

FPG/Hulton Archive/Getty ImagesThe first concert Ringo Starr played with The Beatles after officially joining the group happened 50 years ago today.  The drummer's debut set as a Fab Four member took place at 10 p.m. at Hulme Hall in Birkenhead, England, at an annual dance for a horticultural society.  Two days earlier, the group fired Pete Best, reportedly after producer George Martin had complained about his poor drumming at a recent recording session. read more ≫
