Barbra Streisand Is "Devastated" Over Marvin Hamlisch's Death, Expands Fall Dates Beyond NYC

BarbraStreisand.comBarbra Streisand is "devastated" by the passing of famed composer Marvin Hamlisch, who won an Oscar for composing one of the diva's singature tunes, "The Way We Were."

In a statement to ABC News Radio, Streisand says, "I'm devastated.  He was my dear friend.  He's been in my life ever since the first day I met him in 1963, when he was my rehearsal pianist for Funny Girl.  He played at my wedding in 1998…and recently for me at a benefit for women's heart disease." read more ≫


Rod Stewart's New Album to Feature Songs About "Grown-Up Problems"

Universal Music GroupRod Stewart is working on his first new album of original songs in more than 10 years, and he says the material will reflect his own personal experiences as twice-divorced dad.

The British paper The Sun quotes Stewart as saying of the new album, "I've tackled what I call grown-up problems. There are songs with advice to my kids -- and a song about divorce."  He adds, "There are hardly any ballads on it at the moment." read more ≫
