Duran Duran "Honored & Excited" to Sing for England at Olympics Opening Concert

Facebook.com/DuranDuranThe opening ceremony for the 2012 Summer Olympics in London takes place today, and Duran Duran is headlining a huge concert in London's Hyde Park to help celebrate the occasion. 

Four acts are performing to represent each part of the United Kingdom: Duran Duran represents England, while Snow Patrol will represent Northern Ireland.  The Welsh band Stereophonics will represent Wales, while Scottish singer/songwriter Paolo ****** will play for Scotland. read more ≫


The Zombies Launch US Tour on Friday in Florida

TheZombies.netThe Zombies return to the U.S. this week for a 10-date summer tour.  The trek kicks off Friday night at the Largo Cultural Center in Largo, Florida, and is scheduled through an August 9 show at the Howard Theatre, in Washington, D.C.

The outing includes a two-night stand, August 5-6, at New York City's Highline Ballroom.  Opening for The Zombies at both shows are fellow '60s legends The Left Banke, who scored a top-five hit in 1966 with the classic "Walk Away Renee." read more ≫


Bruce Springsteen Extends Wrecking Ball Tour

According to his official website, The Boss and the band have scheduled 16 additional dates in the U.S. and Canada, starting October 19 in Ottawa and running through December 6 in Glendale, Arizona. read more ≫

MJ Kim/MPL Communications Ltd.On Friday, the official start of the 2012 Summer Olympics in London will be celebrated with an extravagant opening ceremony that will culminate with a performance by Paul McCartney.  Not many details have been confirmed about what the ex-Beatles star will be playing, although media reports from his rehearsals have revealed that one of the songs Sir Paul has been preparing is the Fab Four classic "Hey Jude." read more ≫


Eric Burdon to Undergo Surgery; Postpones Album, Concerts

EricBurdon.comFounding Animals frontman Eric Burdon is pushing back the release of his upcoming album until early next year and postponing his scheduled tour dates to undergo back surgery.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer had planned to release 'Til Your River Runs Dry -- his first studio set since Soul of a Man in 2006 -- on September 18.  But this week Burdon's management announced the postponement saying that while the singer's upcoming back operation is considered routine, post-surgery rehabilitation can take up to six months. read more ≫
