Our guest this week is Celeste Headlee, author of We Need to Talk. She’s also a regular contributor on NPR, CNN and News discussion panels. In her book, she talks about how smartphones in general and email, in particular, are damaging our communication and our relationships. She argues that our brains are missing the in-person connection that is vital for our mental health.
We talk about the benefits of turning off your notifications and how to unplug without damaging your career or missing critical information.
Even though she advocates turning off social media and does so herself, she has an active twitter account here. Or you can follow up with her at her website: https://www.celesteheadlee.com
