9-24-17: Holly Tucci, American Heart Assoc, Heart Walk 2017, www.heart.org/walk

Holly Tucci is a model…she looks like she cook be on the cover of any fashion magazine, but the better model is one of making good health choices. Holly was born with congenital heart disease, a heart block. She was a typically active kid, but by age 9 was exhausted much of the time, and told her parents and doctors it was time for a pacemaker. She’s had 7 replacements in the intervening almost 3 decades. It was with her last one 2 years ago that she made a life altering, life-saving decision–to get healthy. At that point Holly was diagnosed as morbidly obese. She’s since lost “half” of herself, 143 lb. and is a spokesperson for the American Heart Association. Holly says it’s about making a decision, and one we can make is to support the research efforts of the Association by participating in a Heart Walk. Tacoma has one on September 30, and Seattle’s Walk is Oct 14 at Seattle Center. Every $$ counts. www.heart.org/walk
