How do you know if you might have the coronavirus COVID-19?
You may have been infected and not know immediately. You may have the virus for 1 to 14 days before developing symptoms.
The most common symptoms of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) are a fever of more than 100.4, tiredness, a persistent dry hacking cough, and shortness of breath or difficulty breathing. There have also been many reports of losing the sense of smell and taste as a symptom of the virus.
The good news is that most people, about 80% recover from the disease without needing special treatment.
We now know that COVID-19 can affect any age group. However, the virus can be serious and even fatal, especially to those in older age groups, over 60, and people with other medical conditions such as asthma, diabetes, heart disease, or a compromised immune system.
