Jeff Beck and Johnny Depp premiere video for recent cover of John Lennon's "Isolation"

Deuce Music Ltd./RhinoLast month, Jeff Beck and actor/musician Johnny Depp released a collaborative cover of the 1970 John Lennon song “Isolation” as a digital download and via streaming services.  Now an official video for the tune has debuted on Beck’s YouTube channel.

The clip features footage of Beck and Depp performing “Isolation” live last September at Eric Clapton‘s Crossroads Guitar Festival in Dallas, synced to the studio version of the song.

The track was recorded last year and is intended for an upcoming album that the duo is preparing, but Beck and Depp decided to release it early because its theme reflects what people are experiencing during the coronavirus pandemic.

“Isolation” features Jeff on guitar and Johnny on vocals, and also includes contributions from two longtime members of Beck’s touring band: drummer Vinnie Colaiuta and bassist Rhonda Smith. The live performance also features Vanessa Freebairn-Smith on cello.

In other news, Beck has announced rescheduled dates for his recently postponed 2020 U.K. tour. The trek now will take place in 2021, and is scheduled to kick off April 21 in Sheffield, and is mapped out through a May 1-2 stand at London’s famous Royal Albert Hall.
