“Nuts,” fifth track from new David Bowie digital rarities EP, available now for streaming

ParlophoneThe fifth installment of a six-song digital EP of rare David Bowie recordings called Is It Any Wonder? is a semi-instrumental track titled “Nuts” that was released today via streaming services.

You also can listen to the song on Bowie’s official YouTube channel.

As previously reported, Is It Any Wonder? is being issued one track each week through February 14. “Nuts” is a previously unreleased song that was recorded in November 1996 during the final sessions for Bowie’s 1997 album, Earthling, and had been intended for use as a bonus track, but was shelved. The electronic-beat-driven tune features intermittent spoken and sung vocals, as well as samples.

“Nuts” was co-written and co-produced by David and two members of his touring band at the time, Reeves Gabrels and Mark Plati. The track features Bowie on vocals, Gabrels on guitar and Plati on keyboards and programming.

The sixth and last installment of the Is Any Wonder? EP will be released next week.  Along with it, DavidBowie.com promises there will be “a final extra surprise.”
